Weve Location-Based Service Terms

Article 1 (Purpose)

These Terms set out the rights, obligations and responsibilities between EscapeSalary (the "Company") and users ("you") regarding the location-based services provided in the Weve app (the "Service").

Article 2 (Governing rules)

Matters not covered here are governed by the Korean Act on the Protection, Use, etc. of Location Information (the "Location Information Act"), the Personal Information Protection Act, other applicable laws, and our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Article 3 (What the Service does and fees)

We use your device's location to provide:

The Service is free. Mobile data charges are set by your carrier.

Article 4 (Use and retention of location)

• Your current location is used only at the moment a feature needs it (e.g. loading nearby drops, checking pick-up range) and is not stored on our servers.
• When you create a drop, its coordinates and country code are stored as part of that post and are deleted without delay when you delete the drop or your account.
• As required by Article 16(2) of the Location Information Act, we automatically keep records of location use/provision and delete them automatically after 6 months. If you withdraw consent or delete your account, your records are deleted immediately.
• If you browse as a guest (without signing in), the guest account and the coordinates of any drops it left are deleted automatically 24 hours after the account was created.

Article 5 (Visibility of drops and third parties)

• A drop is content you post yourself. Its location is shown on other users' maps according to the visibility you choose (Everyone or Followers Only). You choose visibility before posting and can delete a drop at any time.
• Apart from content you post yourself as described above, we do not provide your personal location information to third parties.
• If third-party provision ever becomes necessary, we will tell you who receives it and why, obtain your consent in advance, and notify you immediately each time of the recipient, date/time and purpose.

Article 6 (Your rights)

• You may withdraw all or part of your consent at any time by tapping Settings > Withdraw Location Consent in the app, which immediately stops location features (nearby drops, dropping, picking up, nearby alerts). Turning off Weve's location permission in your device settings or deleting your account has the same effect. We will then delete the affected location information and related records without delay.
• You may ask us to temporarily stop using your location at any time; turning off the location permission stops it immediately.
• You may request access to records of how your location was used or provided, and correction of any errors, by emailing hello@we-ve.com. We will not refuse without a legitimate reason.

Article 7 (Children under 14)

• The Service is not provided to children under 14, and we ask every user to confirm they are 14 or older before starting.
• If we learn that a child under 14 has used the Service, we will suspend the account and delete their personal location information without delay.

Article 8 (Location Information Manager)

We have designated the following person to protect personal location information and handle complaints.

Article 9 (Damages and disclaimer)

• If you suffer damage because we violated Articles 15–26 of the Location Information Act, you may claim compensation; we are liable unless we prove there was no intent or negligence.
• We are not liable when the Service cannot be provided due to events beyond our control (natural disasters, war, carrier outages, etc.) or due to device positioning errors.

Article 10 (Dispute resolution)

If a location-related dispute cannot be resolved between us, either party may apply for a ruling to the Korea Communications Commission under Article 28 of the Location Information Act, or for mediation to the Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee (www.kopico.go.kr).

Article 11 (Changes)

We may amend these Terms within the limits of applicable law. We will post changes in the app and on our website at least 7 days before they take effect (30 days for changes unfavorable to you), and ask for consent again in the app for material changes.
